Took a few days off at the beginning of the week and took a short drive to Panguitch Lake up in Utah. What a gorgeous place to spend a few days.
For those of you that are like me and have problems trying to pronounce “Panguitch” and easy way to remember is Panguitch rhymes with sandwich.
Panguitch Lake is known primarily as a fishing destination. In fact, the earliest known use of Panguitch Lake was as a fishery by Paiute Indians. Very appropriately, the name Panguitch means “big fish” in the Paiute language. The lake is famous for its plentiful trout. Anglers will find rainbow, brook, cutthroat, and brown trout thriving in its cool waters. In the winter, ice fishing is very popular on the lake.
So if you want to escape the Vegas heat for a few days, maybe even do some fishing, check out Panguitch Lake. The 4 hour ride is totally worth it!
