f8 and Be There… A Lesson Re-Learned…

I re-learned a lesson this weekend that I would like to pass along to you.

f8 and be there…

After finishing a shoot Saturday night in Miami, the client decides to take my team out to dinner to discuss the says shoot. All good so far… Thinking this was a business meeting at a local restaurant close by I decided to leave my cameras at the Hotel, including my point and shoot camera.

This folks was a mistake, a huge mistake on my part.  Where we ended up is South Beach. For those of you that don’t know what South Beach is, it is the old section of South Miami Beach, now it is an art deco area that if famous for the renovated old buildings, great food and it’s the party place for the rich and famous.

So after dinner we decide to walk around and see the sights, and you guessed it. I did not have my camera with me. Just my iPhone. Here I am in the perfect place for night photography and no camera.

So remember, no matter where you go, no matter what your plans are, ALWAYS take your camera with you.  Two sayings I am always telling others I should have told myself on Saturday night.  f8 and Be There, meaning Be There and have your camera with you. And the other… Better to have and not need than to need and not have.  Lesson re-learned, the hard way…

Here is a couple shots from my iPhone…
